LADIES BATTLE WINDY CONDITIONS TO COMPETE FOR PRESIDENT’S PRIZE (24-06-2012)
Photograph show President Ken Burnell presenting President's prize to Bryony James with Lady Vice Captain Margaret Townrow on his left and runner up Margaret Thomas on his right.
Although the President’s Prize was competed for on 23rd June the windy conditions made it feel more like winter. Not surprisingly good scores escaped all the competitors! In the end Bryony James coped best with the elements, returning a winning score of just 28 Stableford points, clinching the prize on the back nine from a windswept Margaret Thomas.
Lady Vice Captain Maggie Townrow welcomed club President, Mr Ken Burnell who very generously presented beautiful glassware to Bryony at a ceremony held in the clubhouse.
The Lady Vice Captain then proceeded to make the following presentations for competitions played over recent weeks.
1st Kay Thomas
2nd Ann Shaw
The winning pair were Ruth Jones (Lady Captain) & Kay Thomas. Ruth and Kay will now go forward to represent the club in the next round.
